MICHELE M. HOLBROOK is the Plant Operations Manager at the Corning Incorporated Wilmington, NC Plant. The plant produces optical fiber for the telecommunications industry. Michele graduated from Clarkson University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Following graduation, she worked for an environmental consulting firm focusing on soil and groundwater remediation. In 1995, she began her career with Corning Incorporated working in a CRT glass manufacturing plant. There she held several positions including Senior Process Engineer, Funnel Finishing Supervisor, Manufacturing Process Engineering Supervisor and Regulatory Affairs Manager. When the plant closed, Michele took a temporary hiatus from Corning and worked as an Operations Manager for a small, entrepreneurial furniture company. In 2005, Michele rejoined Corning as a Plant Quality Manager in the Environmental Technologies Division. She transitioned to the Plant Engineering Manager role in 2006 where she focused on increasing the level of fundamental understanding of critical plant processes. In 2009 she moved into the Operations Manager role where she was responsible for directing production and maintenance operations to achieve plant cost, quality and service objectives. In 2012 she transferred to the Telecommunications Division where she became the Operations Manager for the Wilmington, NC Fiber Optics plant.
